Trick Tips (New School and Old School)

New School Tech Tricks (Flips,Spins,Grabs,Ect).

New School Tech Tricks (Flips,Spins,Grabs,Ect)

New School Tech Tricks (Flips,Spins,Grabs,Ect).

-Body Varial-

This is the simplist trick we can think of. If you cannot do this trick, e-mail us and we'll arrange to have your board taken away.

Jump into the air and turn halfway around. Yeah you heard us right. Well... you don't usually do this trick on it's own. You can add it on to other tricks to make them more "spiffy". For example: "kickflip body varial" would be a kickflip with a 180 degree turn of the body.

Can't say much more about this trick.

-Sex Change-

This is a good trick to learn after you have learned how to kickflip and your to lazy to learn how to heel flip.

1. Start out with you feet in the normal position to kickflip.

2. Now smash the board down and do a kickflip but be sure to get high above the board.

3. Then while the board is spinning do a body varial and land it.

4. Try to land with both feet covering the bolts.

5. Ride away and see if the stupid person watching you even noticed the difference.

-Varial Flip-

It is essential that you know the pop shove-it and kickflip before attempting this sic trick. Then you will be cool to go for it.

The best way to put your feet is with your back foot on the toe edge of the tail, and with your front foot at about a 45 degree angle and your toe on the heel edge. It should be about 2 or 3 inches from the bolts.

This whole thing is simultaneous. Hit the tail (duh.). Push your back foot to the heel edge like a pop shove-it. Slide your front foot forward and towards the edge, flipping the board. Try to keep your board underneath your feet. Try to keep your feet out of the way while it is flippin' around. Then when it has turned a 180 and flipped "catch the board", as in get your feet back into the normal position for riding in the air. Got all that dummy?

Land and keep your weight centered or else you will slip out and look like a dumbass, unless you already are a dumbass, in which case you will look like a real dumbass.

Okay, if you didn't look like a dumbass, ride away cool, knowing that you did a really sic flip trick.

-The Nollie Flip-

1) Set up going forward just like you do a kickflip, but in the nollie position.

2) You should already know how to nollie and flip the board, nollie.

3) Before you try landing them going nollie, try switch kickflips on carpet or on grass.

4) Once you can land them, try them going nollie.

5) Hit the nose and flip the board whichever way you feel most comfortable.

6) It helps to jump really high to have more accuracy when you land on the board.

7) Balance your weight and ride away. Don't slip out. It hurts!

-Nollie to Grind:-

Ride parallel to the curb or other object. When you feel comfortable nollie. When you get into the air, you should level out the board quickly or else you will eat it. You definately do not want that. Hurts. Then do your best to land on your trucks on the edge of the curb. Keep your weight balenced and land smooth.

-Nollie Shove-it-

Ride at a comfortable speed. When you are ready, pop your nose like any nollie trick, then as you lift from the ground shove the board around to catch it and land smooth. Hence the name: Nollie Shove-it.

-Nollie 360 Shove-it-

Before you attempt this trick, learn the freakin' normal nollie shove-it k? Alright. Then all you gotta do is kick harder and jump harder. Land it smooth. Ride away clean.

-Nollie to Kickflip-

This is a completely different trick than a nollie kickflip. In this trick you nollie, then flip the board with your front foot like it was a normal kickflip. It is very very similar to a nollie pressure flip. To do the trick, nollie real high. When you begin to level out the board slide back with your front foot and kick in down. Then get your feet outta the way. When it comes around catch it like a kickflip. Land. Ride. Very difficult but keep on tryin'.

-Nollie Blindside-

When doing this trick get in the nollie position and face ur head over your right shoulder (if natural). Nollie, then when ur in the air turn the board to the right. Try and get it right around and land smoothly.

-Nollie Heelflip-

To do this trick position your front foot halfway on the nose. Put ur back foot just before the back bolts, with the toe just over the edge and the heel just over the edge. Pop the nollie and flick ur foot out and quickly bring it back in. This trick is hard to get high but practice makes perfect.

-Nollie Grab BoardPlant-

This trick is good for changing stances and/or direction quickly and with some phat stylin' flair, too. It's eas to do, and you can change from fakie to regular stance or vice-versa. Whatever. Here's how we break it down:

1)Ride flatland kinda medium-slow paced.

2)Get in your nollie stance.

3)Push down on your nose, like you're doing a nollie, but slide your toe off the end of the board and hold it while bustin' this dope trick. This way, you have traction with the ground with your shoe and you should stop right away.

4)As the board suddenly starts to flip up, grab your tail and kick your back foot out in front or to the side, whatever you can do. Keep your weight back or you'll go flying forward without a board. Plus, you'll look like a 100% genuine dumbass poser who has no skill like the Beebster.

5)While you stop the board and grab it WITH your weight back, pull your back foot back onto the board and ride off in the other direction. You will have to build your speed back up because it is hard to roll back fast out of this trick unless you stopped while going uphill.

6)Roll away all smooth-likeTo mix this trick in with anything else and make it the phattest ever, you can:

*do it coming out of a nose stall

*spin it 180 or as you approach a ledge(for the truly sick) pull it, 180 around and ollie off the ledge

-Backside Halfcab-

Alright, before you try the trick, know how to ollie, etc. like I say everytime. What a halfcab is, is a fakie (riding backwards) 180. Backside, believe it or not, is turning towards your front in a 180. So turn so that your front foot is heading towards the front of you, not the back of you.

What to do is to ride backwards at a comfortable pace, then hit your tail, jump and spin in the previously indicated direction while rotating your legs. Your body should be leading and your legs should be coming right along with you.

Make sure that you don't bail, and that you try to pull it the first try. Always stay above your board.

Land, and you'll be riding forwards.

-Backside Half-cab Flip-

1. Start out by riding in fakie position with a good amount of speed.

2. The ball of your back foot should be on the edge of the tail and your front foot should be in the middle of the board with the front half of your foot on just like a varial flip.

3. Crouch down to get power but make sure you don't lose your balance.

4. Slap your tail down and bring your back foot under you to make it spin 180. At the same time kick your front foot off the side just enough to get it to spin. Remember, when you make the board flip, try to keep your feet above the board and don't flip it too hard.

5. During all of that, spin yourself backside 180. It's very important that you turn all the way 180.

6. When you and the board are finished spinning, land and keep going.

-360 Pop Shove-it-

This trick is actually pretty tough. You ought to know how to do regular pop shove-its and at least be able to kickflip and stuff.

You'll have to try putting your feet a few different ways. The best way is to put your feet kind of like an ollie and scoot your front foot towards your back a bunch. The most important thing is to keep the board from flipping, so you don't land prematurely or overmaturely.

Hit your tail and swing your back foot back. Jump. You want to use the power in your back foot for it.

Try to shoot it around fast and grab it with your feet. You might have to jump forward to catch it like a 360 flip (if you can't do this trick, you might want to try a 360 flip.)

-360 Flip-

To do a 360 flip, you should first be able to do a varial flip and 360 Pop Shove-it. First put your back foot on the back right edge of the board (back left edge if you are goofy) and put it at an angle so it is on the very edge of the tail. Then put your front foot a couple inches towards you from the middle of the board and then slant your foot the same way you did on your back foot. Now it's time to do the trick.

Set up bend your knees and hit your tail while sliding your front foot forward. Through your back foot behind you as quickly as you can as you hit your til spinning the board till it rotates all the way around. While doing this slide your front foot off the edge of the board using your toe to flip it. Your board does not have to go high just as long as it gets around. You can work on the hieght later. Once it has finished rotating catch the board with your feet and land on it. That's pretty much it. Oh yeah, and then ride away. Bet you didn't do it. If you did, good job.

-Cabalero-

This trick, along with the Half Cab, was invented by a professional skateboarder, Steve Cabalero.

A cabalero is a fakie (riding backwards) 360. Your body and board ollie, and then turn all the way around in the air.

Ride fakie. The easier way is to try this backside. Hit your tail, jump high, and swing your body around 360 as fast as you can. Your feet and board follow closely behind you. Try not to let your board flip under your feet.

Land. If you did it right, you'll be riding fakie again. Just remember, you have to spin real fast.

-Cabalero Flip-

Not neccessarily fakie. (A 360 flip and a 360 body varial the same way.)

Also sometimes known as a Chicago Flip.

1. Place your back foot on the tail of to the edge a little bit *(if you skate regular, your right foot on the top edge part of the tail, switch is the exact opposite).

2. Place your front foot in a kickflip position.

3. Crouch for power*, and snap the tail and kick it hard behind you *(when crouching, if you notice pros they move their front foot back a little bit before they flip it. Its easier that way).

4. Give the board kickflipping action by kicking the board hard, but not to hard as to over-rotate the spin.

5. Try and stay above the board and watch it spin underneath you.

6. When you see the grip tape, aim your feet towards it and land anyway you can - you can perfect that later.

7. at the point where you pop the board, begin a frontside armswing and go for it. You must spin a full 360 and land.

on the board. Yeah I know, it sounds impossible but just stick with it and you'll have it down in about two weeks.

-Big Spin-

A big spin is a 360 pop shove-it with a backside body varial. OR... a backside 180 with an extra pop shove-it.

To do a big spin you should first know how to do backside 180's and pop shove-it's. Once you can do those you should be ready to attempt a big spin. Even though a big spin sounds hard, it really isn't

You should first try a big spin riding fakie (backwards). Ride fakie. Then wind up your body like you are going to backside half-cab. Then ollie and unwind. As you spin around towards your stomach and are about to land kick your board ian the same direction you are spinning. In other words you should make the board continue its previous spin and speed up faster than you are so that it spins another 180 really quickly before you land it.

Ride away cleanly.

-Big Spin Flip-

(A 360 flip and a body varial the same way.)

Also sometimes known as a Big Spin Kickflip.

1. Ride really fast.

2. Put your feet the same as a 360 flip.

3. Turn your upper body in a backside 180 and when in 90 degrees pop a 360 flip but dont lose your turning momentum. Its important that you wind up your body and not begin the flip trick until you have already begun to spin your body and your body has turned 90 degrees. I.e. You feet are following your upper body around. Your upper body is not following your feet.

4. Land with style.

5. You must have as much momentum as possible when turning.

6. Now do it into a nose bluntslide.

-The Phobia Flip? (Hardflip Heelflip)-

This sent to us by Aaron Gaffney.

Hey smith, hows it going? Hey i've got a new trick for ya, i don't know if i made it up or its

done before but here it is -

Its like a hardflip but the half-flip goes in the direction of a

heelflip.

1.Roll along at a moderate speed with your back foots toes and ball of

the foot on the the edge (like for a popshuvit). Your front foot should

be just about anywhere from the middle of the board to towards the front

truck bolts.

2. Pop the tail hard an sort of jump forward, to allow the board to flip

around without you knackering yourself.

3.When its flipped around try and put you feet on it and roll away.

Note- this trick is fuckin hard to land so just keep at it and dont

smash your board or anythin'!

Thats it fellas, if you don't have a name for this trick its called a

phobia flip.

-Ollie Impossible-

The ollie impossible is a hard trick to master but once you master it all your friends will think that you are the pimp so read this! The first thing to know about this trick is that you can roll at any speed to accomplish this trick. You will place your front foot either right in front of the nose or way back where you would put it if you were to do a 360 flip. If you are a beginner you should place your foot right in front of the nose, advanced riders should do the other method. Your back foot should be placed on the tip of the tail and your toes should hang off the tip of it. You don't really pop your board like an ollie but sort of drag the tail momentarily on the ground and make contact with your toes and the ground. With your front foot all you do is kick it way out of the way otherwise you'll screw up your ankles when you land on the side of the board. by this point your board should be almost on it's side. Now you will sweep your back foot under you and make the board flip around your foot. The board will do a 360 and should be touching your foot the whole time. After the board is done rotating bring your front foot back to tip the board back so that it is no longer flipping around on its side. The board should now be under your feet and you are landing on the ground. Now go and tell all of your friends about it.

to do the ollie impossible, you must first practice snaping your board flat on the ground and in the air, it should be looping around on your foot and getting it back on the ground with no problems...you must also learn to do an ollie with a flip 180 or hard trick 2-3 ft. off the ground...

here's the procedure:

1) ride cool and relaxed ate a comfortable speed

2) get to your ollie position

3) snap the board like an ollie but in the air do not even the board out

4) take your front foot off the board so the oard on its way up stays horizontal

5) now do what you practiced before in the air with the foot

6) now catch the board with the other foot

7) even the board out

8) land smoothly

9) ride away knowing hat anyone else who watched were j thinking "DAMN PHAT MOTHERFUCKING TRICK!!!!! HE is goooOOD man...."

KEEP IN MIND: you must learn to ollie very high before doing this trick, it took me 6 months to learn this trick by myself... if you miss it in front of a big crowd...then i'd GET THE HELL OUT of there fast and hope they don't know me! also know that it looks much phatter when your foot doesn't touch the board.....

-Ollie Impossible Flip-

Although this decription is short, it is accurate, follow it closely.

1. Place you feel like you were doing a reg kickflip.

2. Pop the tail and slide your front foot directly down.

3. When your front foot hits the ground jump and push forward with your back foot.

4. Your board should do a Full Back-Flip.

5. Hop with your front foot diagonal to the direction going and your board.

6. Spread your legs until the board is horizontle.

7. Land with your knees heavily bent if going of a drop so you don't crack open the tail like I have done.

Note: Do not try this trick going fast. Otherwise your nuts are in danger (unless you're a girl, but its never fun to smash yourself anyway, so avoid falling and getting hurt at all costs.)

-The Outward Heelflip-

To perform an outward heelflip, you must first be able to do heelflips and frontside pop shove-its regularly.

Place your front foot hanging over the toe edge with only your heel on the board with your back foot on the tail like you would for a frontside pop shove-it. Hit the tail and push your back foot forward like you would so it would rotate the 180. While doing this, kick your front foot off the edge of the board to make it flip. when it has finished flipping, catch it with your feet. If by this time it has not rotated the complete 180, push it around all the way with your feet. Your wieght may tend to be on your back foot and towards the tow edge, so be sure to evenly distribute your weight across the board. Land and ride away cleanly

-Inward Heelflip-

1. Place feet in backside heelflip position. Basically put your front foot like a normal heelflip and put your backfoot like you would for a backside 180. Pretty logical stance. No reason to complicate it.

2. Pop a shuvit with your back foot.

3. When it is at 90 degrees flip the board with your heel (kick your heel forward rather than towards the nose and out).

4. Tuck your legs up high so the board doesnt hit your legs. You almost have to wrap your flipping foot around the board (like a saran wrap) if you don't.

5. When you see the griptape side up slam your feet down hard over the trucks to prevent slipiing out and falling.

-The Frontside Flip-

For a frontside flip, put your front foot on the heel edge of the board and have about half of your foot on the board. (This may vary for different people on how the prefer to place their feet. This is how I do them. Put your back foot on the tail, as you normally would for a frontside 180. Hit your tail like you would for a frontside 180 while sliding your front foot off the edge of the board flipping it around. It can either go between your legs or it can stay below your feet. I think that when it goes between your legs it gives you more style, but its not always as easy. If it stays below your feet, make sure it rotates a complete 180 and flips all the way around. When it has completed it flipping, catch it as soon as possible. If at this time it has not finished rotating the 180, push out your back foot to make it finish and ride away fakie. If you want to flip it between your legs, flip it like you would a hard flip, but instead of lnading in your normal stance do a body varial and land fakie. It may be easier to perform the body varial if you put your front foot more towards the edge of the board.

-The Backside Flip-

What is a backside flip, you ask? It's a backside 180 with a kickflip.

First of all can you varial flip, if not, learn.

Now, the first thing you should do is to either put your foot like you would for a kickflip or for a varial flip. Try both, it is different for different people and different boards. Now wind up your body in the opposite direction you are going to turn (towards your back) then unwind and spin your board like a varial flip. To do this start to turn the way you are spinning (towards your stomach) then kick your front foot out and kick your back foot backwards). Spin your body and stay above the board and turn with it the whole time. When you and the board are turned in the air, catch the board and land as cleanly as possible. Absorb the shock of the landing with your knees. You wouldn't want to hurt your ankle so that you can't even ollie.

-Frontside Heel-

To perform this trick, it may be easier if you first master frontside 180's and heelflips.

Set up with your back foot like you would normally have it for a frontside 180. Put your front foot over the toe edge with only your heel on the board. Hit the tail as you would for a frontside 180 but at the same time flick your heel over the toe edge so it spins the 180 and flips at the same time. Continue your body movement in this direction until you have rotated a complete frontside 180 with your body. By this time, the board should have flipped all the way around and spun the 180. Once the board has flipped, catch it with your feet. Keep the board attached to your feet and land in the fakie stance. Ride away clean.

-Backside Heelflip-

1. Get going at a moderate speed so you do not lose the board when flipping it.

2. Place your feet as you were to do a regular inward flip (Varial Heelflip).

3. Ollie and throw your backfoot away from you and slide the front foot straight down.

4. The board should begin to spin backside and flip like a heelflip if done right.

5. Jump forward and catch the board.

flip (This is very tricky, it took me like 40 straight minutes to get down right.)

-Heelflip-late-front-foot-shove-it-

1. Be rolling along at a good speed.

2. Put your front foot in a heelflip position-only a tiny bit of your toe should hang over.

3. Ollie and flip the heelflip but then snap your front foot back as the board completes the flip and kick the side of your board with your heel.

4. land on the trucks.

5. roll away

this trick is easiest off a curb or dropoff. It takes a while to get the snapping motion down, but you'll get it.

-The Pressure Flip-

This is the coolest trick, I saw it on a Plan B video. Its just like a kickflip except you flip the board with your back foot. Heres how you do it.

1. Place your back foot on the edge of the tail and your front in the middle of the board just like an ollie

2. Pop the board with your back foot and slide your front foot forward to straighten the board out (just like and ollie).

3. Heres the hard part, while in the air, kick your BACK foot out flipping the board with your back foot. Be sure to get that foot out of the way while the board is flipping

4. When the board flips in one full rotation, plant your feet on the board and ride away smoothly.

this trick may be hard at first, but hey, i learned it so anyone can

-The Late Flip-

The lateflip isn't really one trick, i guess its kind of a nollie, you can put it together with almost any trick. Anyway the late flip is just a kickflip but you flip the board very late and land it just in time. this is best done off launch ramps or stairs, heres how it goes.

1. Place your back foot on the edge of the board and your front foot on the middle of the board (just like an ollie)

2. Pop the board up and bring your front foot forward to straighten it out (still just like an ollie)

3. Now heres where you have to think. You must now the latest time to flip the board while in air. So I guess you should try to practice before hand.

4. Now, at the LATEST time you could. Flip the board with your front foot, fast and hard, really hard. This should cause the board to flip faster and you would just have done a late flip.

be sure to know where your feet are going to be and flip the board VERY HARD. if you dont then you will be hurting for it. Me for example tried a late flip off 6 stairs and accidently landed a taco and fell which led to a sprained ankel.

-The Frontside Wallride-

1. first you gotta learn how to ollie, an' you gotta be able to do it at least like two feet high or so.

2. ride towards a wall at about a 45 degree angle with your body facing it. that means that the front of your body is facing the wall. get it?

3. get ready to ollie at the wall, and keep your eyes on the spot where you want to wallride at all times.

4.ollie up, but don't level out. instead bring your back foot up in line with your front foot while pushing it towards the wall. while you do all this push your heels forwards and your toes back.

5. the board should now be more or less parellel to the ground. "snap" your toes forward which will put the board up against the wall. when you are actually riding the wall, you only want to have the balls of your feet on the board. otherwise it'll be too hard to stay upright. you only want to ride the wall for like a second or two.

6. now there are two ways to get off. actually, both are the same way, except in one you grab the board and in the other you don't. i can only do it with grabbing the board, so that's the only way i'm gonna tell you.

6. (cont.) bend your legs a little if they're not already bent, and grab the center of the frontside of the board, like an indy grab. pop the tail and jump away from the wall. level out the board with your hand by pulling your wrist inward (it's not that hard), and keep your feet flat against the deck.

7. extend your legs a little to absorb the impact, and ride off. actuall, the first few times i gaurentee you'll fall on your ass because you'll be off balance and loop out. but that's all good, cause' you'll get it eventually.

here's a couple hints:

*this whole trick only takes about 1.5 seconds to do. don't try to actually ride the wall.

*when you get off the wall, don't worry about leveling out the board. i made it sound more complicated than it really is.

*a pussy way to learn (that i used) is to find a wall with grass near it, and put a sheet of plywood leading up to it. that way you can practice the trick and not have to worry about falling backwards onto concrete or anything else that would hurt like a bitch.

-Indy Grab-

1. Roll slow, unless you are going off a ramp or something high.

2. Ollie and pop as hard as you can.

3. Crouch down low when you are going up in the air.

4. When you are at the top of your ollie grab the right side (left if you are goofy) of the board.

5. Hold until you are about to touch the ground.

6. Land with your knees bent to absorb the shock

7. Ride Away

******Note: You must crouch really low to pull of any grab******

-Airwalk-

Okay, the air walk seems like an impossible trick as you need to get enough air to clear Sear's tower, so try it going down about six or seven stairs right.

1.aproach the stairs like a bat outa hell.

2.Get your self in the ollie position.

3. Ollie like you had a fire cracker up yo' ass.

4. While in the air take your feet nearly all the way off the board but keep your toe on heelside edge and your heel on the toe side edge.

5.KEEP THE BOARD LEVEL!!!!!!!! If the board flips your dead.

6.As you see mother earth returning into view slide oyur feet onto the bolts and bend your knees.

7.Land.

8. Slag off your mates for being so shit at sk8ing that they wouldn't dare try this trick.

This trick is for the really advanced only. I have snapped two decks and broken a shin doing this trick wrong. But if you do it right you'll defintly pull in the betties. Skate hard.

-Early Grab-

this is really lame...

as you approach something you're gonna jump/ride off of, reach down and grab the deck any way you see fit.

apply pressure to your tail to keep your front end up as you catch air.

in the air let go of the board.

land.

-Frontside 180 Ollie-

As you can probobly tell from the name (Unless you're stupid.), it is imperitive that you learn the ollie first.

The First thing you have to do is prepare for the ollie. Then windup by reaching with your leading hand, across your chest and squat down.

Ollie. As you ascend (go up), unwind (i.e. untwist your body)! As you turn your feet should bring your board around with you.

After you have turned 180 degrees (half-way around) frontside, land.

-Backside 180 Ollie-

The Backside 180 ollie is not much different than the frontside 180 ollie, in that, you're still turning a 180, but you are turning forwards instead of backwards.

To learn the backside 180 ollie, it is recomended that you learn the ollie and the frontside 180 ollie first. Once learned you may attempt the trick.

When doing the backside 180 ollie, you would need to rely on your windup a lot more than that of the frontside 180 ollie. You must windup as muchas possible, and then release that windup and spin 180 with the board.

If you have a lot of trouble with spinning all the way around, try doing half-cabs instead. They are easier for some people

-Ollie Manual-

In order to learn the ollie manual, it is painfully obvious that you must learn the ollie, and the manual first. Darn!

An ollie manual is the act of ollieing and landing on your two back wheels and balencing on them for a distance.

The best way I know to learn this is to pop a tiny ollie, as though you are ollieing over a crack, and don't level out the board. Land on your back wheels and try to be in the position you are in when you manual when you land.

One thing I know is that you should not try to learn this in place. Some people learn it moving fast, some people learn it moving rather slowly, but hardly any can successfully learn it standing still. You may need to try fast ans slow. Experiment with it and have fun. Don't get pissed off if you don't pull it the first try! Skate Hard.

-Ollie Nose Manual-

To do an Ollie Nose Manual, you should first be able to do both ollies and nose manuals consistently.

Set up for an ollie with your front foot near the nose of the board. (How far from the nose you wish to put it is up to you. Keep in mind that if you are trying to do this trick on a ledge or other high object, you need to be able to ollie high enough to get onto it, so you might not want to put your front foot too far towards the nose.) Do an ollie while sliding your front foot forward and onto the nose. Push the nose down faster than the tail so that the tail is sticking up in the air and the nose is pointed into the ground. Be sure not to point the nose too drastically into the ground as you only want the wheels to be touching the ground and not the actual nose of the board. Keep your weight balanced over the nose in a nose manual position. When you are ready to finish the nose manual or you come to the end of the ledge/object, there are two different ways you can come out of it. If you are coming off of an object, you may want to push the nose over it quickly so that the back trucks don't hit the object as you come off. You if you, it takes off a lot of style and doesn't look nearly as good. If you are not on an object simply put more weight on your back foot and lean back a little bit until your back wheels hit the ground. Be sure not to put too much weight no your back foot because you might slip out. When you are finished, keep your balance and ride away.

-The Kickflip or Ollie Flip-

In order to learn the kickflip, it is necessary that you learn the ollie.

Now that you have learned it, I want you to get on your board in an ollie stance. Okay, we're going to have to alter this stance a little. Take you front foot and put it right before the front bolts. Now turn it 45 degrees. The ball of your back foot should be in the middle of your tail.

Now to actually do the trick. First you gotta pop down your tail real hard, just like an ollie, so you begin to get off the ground.

As you rise, you should slide your foot the way you do for an ollie, but you want to slide off the heel edge of your board also.

Now you better have your feet outta the way. However you gotta do it, do it.

Wait for the board to spin around, and stay well above it. When it comes around bring your feet back in and catch it. The best place for your feet to catch the board is right on top of all the bolts. You want to "catch" or "grab" it in the air with your feet, and then bend your knees a little because the ground is coming.

When your board hits the ground (and you should be on it at this point...), you need to use your legs like shocks on a car, and obsorbe the landing.

Ride away looking cool, because you just did one of the harder basic tricks to master.

-The Pop Shove-it-

Before you attempt this trick, as for most tricks, you ought to know the ollie first.

The first thing you need to do is give it a "pop" (Slam down on that tail.) Now "shove-it" around with your front foot so that the board turns a 180, but you stay in the same place. You ought to learn it standing in place first, and then learn it fakie. After that you can attempt it moving forward.

You can place your feet in different positions for this trick. It all depends on you. §mith puts his feet sort of the way you would for a kickflip. Feeble puts one foot about on the middle facing straight forward and the other facing straight forwad on the tail.

Remember when you do it to jump forward. Because if you just spin out the board and stay in the same place, your board will just fly out and you will look stupid.

-Heelflip-

Note: There are different ways to do this, we will just explain our way. We're not perfect, and it's not normal. If you want perfect, go somewhere else.

Keep your back toe on the center of the tail. Your front foot should be at a little bit more than a 45 degree angle. It should be in the center of the board with your toe hanging over the toe edge.

Hit the tail. As you do this, slide your front foot forward at an angle and just before it hits the nose, bend your foot/angle it and flip the board over the toe edge with the toe of your foot. Jump.

Wait for the board to rotate. When it comes around, bring knees up and stop it with your feet.

When you land, as with the kickflip, don't look like a dumbass.

-The Harflip-

For a hard flip, place your back foot on the tail and your front foot pointed somewhat forward near the heel edge. Hit the tail while sliding your front foot off of the board making it seem to come straight up at you. It will look like it is going to do a flip and land upside down, but with practice you will learn to make it perform a half-flip and land on its wheels. (You may want to try this without trying to land it the first couple of times.) At the same time, you will want to be rotating your body 90º in the frontside direction letting the board flip between your legs. When the board has finished rotating, rotate your body back to your normal stance and catch the board before it hits the ground. Land and ride away clean.

  GRINDS, SLIDES, & STALLS-Boardslide
Or Rail Slide
This is a relatively easy move. To do this you must be able to ollie, if you can do that then here is how it goes.
1) Approach the thing that you're going to slide at a straight angle about half a foot away from it at a good speed that you feel comforble at.
2) When you come up next to it do a 90* ollie on to the thing you're going to slide.
3) When you land on the thing you're going to slide put your weight on to your heels. (If you are sliding the way you're facing.)
4) If you did that right the board will slide. Now to get off this depends on what you are sliding on. If its one of those bike racks that you turn upside down or anything that just stops with nothing in the way of your wheals then all you do is turn your body (and feet) the way you want to get off. But if it does corner or there are things in the way of your wheals then you are going to have to go up on a 30* angleto clear it.
This can be a cool looking move. When you get good at it you can slide things quite long. To do this you need more speed.

-Frontside Boardslide
Note: Must know how to ollie
1) Approach the object at a pretty fast speed. On this trick, if you go to slow you will stick and fall on your back.
2) Now approaching frontside, ollie at a 90 degree angle and slide.
3) While you are sliding center you lower body out with the rail. Your upper body should be turned around so you can see where you are going and it gives you better balance.
4) As you approach the end of your obstacle, turn out 90 degrees and role away and show off.
Note: This is a difficult trick to some people. Don't give up.

-Lipslide
Do to a lipslide, you may want to be able to first pull off boardslides and 180s.
Frontside
Ride toward the ledge/rail/object at a substantial speed. Set up your feet like you would for a 180. For a frontside lipslide a frontside 180, and for a backside lipslide a backside 180. (This is different from boardslides where you turn in the frontside direction to perform a backside boardslide and you turn in a backside direction to perform a frontside boardslide). It may be easier to approach the object from a slight angle, but not too much of an angle because it may make it difficult to slide. Ollie and turn a 90 degree angle getting your tail over the object, landing on it in a boardslide position. However, the boardslide position will be contrary to the way you are doing the trick (i.e. frontside or backside) meaning if you are doing a frontside lipslide, you will slide in the same way as a backside boardslide and vice versa. Slide along the object keeping your weight centered. If the object you are sliding on comes to and end, simply turn your body and your board 90 degrees and land on the ground to ride away. However, if the object you are sliding on does not come to an end or you want to come off the object before the end of it, it can be a little more difficult. Apply a more than average weight to your front foot and bend your back knee so that the back wheels don't get caught on the object. Quickly, move the weight back to your back foot to level out the board again. You only let the weight on your front foot so you could pop the back wheels over the object. If you are sliding a ledge, it may help to do a sort of manual off the end of it. That way your nose doesn't go straight into the ground. Land and ride away clean.
Backside
.
1. Alright, first of all I'd like to tell ewveryone that I can do this trick like snap and have a very well understanding. so trust me, it'll work.
2. Alright, place your feet in the ollie position with moderate speed, at a slight angle and ok whatever. people sometimes feel you have to go in a big angle but it doesnt make a big difference.
3. Bend your knees and ollie up, im serious when I say ollie high enough. turn your board backside 90 degrees once it clears the obstacle and center your weight over the middle of the board.
4. Thats really pretty much it, if you can do steps 1, 2 and 3, coming coming of should be pretty natural.

-Nose Slide
Note: This trick is for people who skateboard regular foot. If you are goofy, just reverse everything.
1)Roll at a good pace toward the object.
2)Try and be either parallel to the object or rolling towards it at a slight angle.
3)When you're close enough, pop the board up and turn the board so it meets the object with it's nose. Tip - When trying to turn the board, use your body and your legs at the same time, you want to have your body facing sideways to the object.
4)Slide, Slide, Slide...
5)If you want to loand regular, simply lean your back foot backwards 90 degrees near the end, as well as your body and legs. If you want to land switch, lean forward when your sliding and turn your body and legs 90 degrees forward.
6)Roll away.
Hints and Tips - To land the trick regular or switch, you need to use both your body and your legs to turn, no just your feet. If helps in you lean forward to land switch, and lean back if you want to land regular.

-Tail Slide
This trick is frontside. So approach the curb the way you would for a basic 50-50.
Ok to tailslide, approach a curb/funbox/whatever going at a moderate speed like if you want to slide farther then go faster. Act as if you are going to do a 5-0 grind, but instead of just landing your back truck on there, turn your board 90 degrees sideways, and land your tail on there. BE SURE TO KEEP YOUR TAIL DOWN (on the curb) AND YOUR NOSE IN AN UPWARD SLANTING DIRECTION (of the curb). Slide Slide Slide. Then if you can get this part down, coming off of a tailslide is easy -- just lean forward. After you get the hang of it, it rules!
It is important, while you're sliding... that you don't lean back too much because you slip out a LOT on this trick... and you do NOT want to land on the corner of a ledge.

-Bluntslide
1) Roll towards the obsticle at a good speed and at an angle between 10 and 35 degrees.
2) Snap the tail and pull your front foot up and in as high as it will go.
3) Bring your back foot up with it but as the obstacle comes beneath you, push your back foot down so that you land on the ledge/curb with your tail down and your board pointing close to vertically.
4) On contact, push your back foot forward and lean back. Compensate this lean by keeping your shoulders straight and forward. This should let you slide.
5) Slide
6) As you near the end of your your slide, put a bit of extra weight on your front foot so that the board tilts to less of a vertical angle. This prepares yopu to be able to snap out of this trick.
7) Push your tail down hard and jump away from the obsticle.
8) Bring your back foot in as close to your body as it will come and pull up and in with your front foot.
9) Push your front foot forward and down while rotaing your ankle.
10) Land cleanly and roll away.

-Noseblunt Slide
Step 1: Practice become farmiliar with frontside 180 ollies and regular ollies.
Step 2: Approach the block at a slight angle. Then ollie to a 90 degre angle sticking your nose into a noseblunt slide position.
Step 3: Keep most of (but not all) of your weight on the nose.
Step 4: Make sure that your body stays facing forward.
Step 5: At the end of the block, give your nose a little nollie - Come out forward or fakie.
Step 6: Ride away cleanly.

-Dark Slide
To do a Frontside Darksilde first you need to know how to boardslide, kickflip, and how to do shove-its out of boardslides. Start by aproaching the object (flatbars are the best) as you would for a fronstide boardslide but more room for the ollie. Start by putting your front foot near the bolts (this is so when you kickflip the board will not spin all the way around) next, ollie and do a kickfip. Make sure it only goes half way around, duh! now the hard part. You have to catch your board by the trucks with your feet on the opposite ends of the board. After you manage to do this slide the rail as far as possible. Getting off is no easy task either. I find the best way is to pick up your front foot and move it out and up. The board will then turn rightside up. After this turn your body and come off fakie.(this sounds harder, but trust me, its alot easier this way.) Land with your knees bent and roll away.

-Darkside Noseslide
roll up to your object you want to stall such as a picnic table curb etc, then put your feet into a kickflip position but with your front foot more toward the middle so the board doesn't spin all the way around.
then when your getting close start your kickflip and before your board gets all the way around put your wieght on the nose and the board should be upside down.
now to pop out i squeeze the trucks with my feet and pop the board up and back around and land with my feet on both trucks...sounds easy enough, eh.

-Casper Slide
To do a casper slide, you need a high rail that's square shaped.Ollie, then kickflip your board halfway to make it upside down. Squeeze the front sides of your trucks to hold your board, then slide the board like a 50-50. Try to slide all the way to the end of the pole. When your at the end of the pole, do another kickflip halfway to catch it rightside up. Bend your knees as you land, then roll away.

-The 50-50 Grind
Approach the ledge or rail you are going to grind either at a 45 degree angle or less. (I find the the 45 degree angle a little bit more difficult to pull-off, but easier get onto.)
Ollie at an angle with your front foot first and your back foot following until you land on the ledge/rail. You want to ollie just high enough to get on, but not too high or you will slam your trucks really hard. Once you start sliding, keep your weight over the center of the board. If possible, have your back foot on the tail. On curbs and low ledges, you can just roll out of it sometimes, but if it is higher you either need to drop or ollie out of it. to drop it, just keep your weight over the back truck and manual until you fall. To ollie out, pop the tail and fall to the ground. When you land, keep your weight centered and try not to slip out. Stay balanced and ride away smooth.

-50-50 180 Out
A 50-50 180out is obviously where you 50-50 and then 180 off the ledge, hence the name "50-50 180out"This trick is pretty dope, but basic.
The first thing is to learn 50-50s and 180s off curbs. aprouch at a moderate speed, but the faster the better. Get into your 50-50.
ollie into it so that your feet land solid, with one on the tail & one above the front bolts. Now it's time to whip out those 180 skill's of your.
Do a 180 off the ledge, but do it with you feet in that solid position. Roll off fakie as your poser friends stare and realize they can't do that.

-Kickflip Backside 50-50
Note: You must know how to kickflip and b/s 50-50.
1) Approach the object at a speed that you feel comfortable at. If you go slow you will stick and not grind. If you go fast it hurts like hell when you fall. So go at a medium speed.
2) Ride a little away from the object because when you kickflip, the board will rotate to the object because you kick it out that way.
3) kickflip
4) Now catch the board in the air and land to a b/s 50-50.
5) While grinding you have to be quick with your feet because it is very hard to set up your feet to pop out unless you catch the board just perfect.
6) Pop out and show off.

-5-0 Grind
This trick seems a lot harder than it is. It's probably best that you start out on a curb or something lower, you wuss.
Anyways, ride towards the curb at hardly any angle at all, and don't go very fast at first. (Btw, since you aren't going very fast, make sure the curb is waxed well first, moron.
Now ollie and land on the curb with only your back truck, not your front at all, and drag your tail. Kind of like a crappy manual on the edge of the curb with one wheel hanging off.
It is VERY important that you don't lean back to much. The biggest danger is slipping out, so don't!
Try to keep yourself balenced, and slide as long as you can. When you're done, come off the same way you do on a 50-50.
Remember, practice practice practice.

-Salad Grind (Crooked 5-0)
approach a rail/curb/whatever at a comfortable pace (i know that sounds corny)
ollie onto the rail as you would during a 5-0 grind, but before you hit the rail, tweak the board to the side as you would in a frontside shifty.
land on the rail and slide along on the rear trucks with the board "boned" out to the side.
slide off the rail like you would in a 5-0.
another way to do this is to do a 5-0, then tweak it out to the side while you're sliding.

-Nose Grind
1. Approach the ledge at a good speed. (Never slow!)
2. When you reach your ledge (a VERY slight angle), make sure that your front foot is near the 2 back bolts on the front truck.
3. Ollie high enough for the front truck to be a little bit above the ledge.
4. In the air, put pressure on the nose of the deck so that the board's front truck is on the ledge. Then push foward so that it will grind more easily.
5. When you are at the end of the ledge lean back just a little so you can get off of it and land.
**When you are grinding, you have to lean to towards the ledge. This will put pressure on the wheel that's on there and you will grind more smoothly. You shouldn't do this on a railing because you will fall.

-K-Grind
Also known as a Crooked Grind or Krooked Grind
To do this trick, you should first be able to do basic grinds, and duh, ollie. Nose manualing experience may help. But you could not know how to nose manual and just be an idiot. Go ahead. Ride up to the ledge or rail at a slight angle, as you would for a 50-50. My mommy is tall. Put your front foot near the bolts depending upon how high the ledge is. Ollie and immediately slide your foot up on to the nose and put pressure on it to lock it against the rail or other obstacle. Your board should be crooked on the rail/ledge. This means that unlike a nosegrind where your board is paralel with the grinding edge, your tail (the one sticking up in the air) should be pinting away from the rail as much as possible behind you. The idea is the k-grind is a crooked grind, so it should be crooked. Keep most of your weight on your nose (front foot) and just a little bit on your back foot so you don't sqeek to a stop. Slide as far as is humanly possible. If the ledge ends, simply slide off and level out, but if it doesn't, pivot your front foot until it sildes off. Level out and try to land parralel to the obstacle. Then make sure you watch where you are going, cuz you might ride into a wall and look really stupid.

-Smith Grind
Approach the obstacle from a slight angle. It helps to have a little bit of speed to be able to slide well. Hit the tail and ollie onto the obstacle, but turn a little similar to a 180, but not all the way around. The smith grind is kind of between a lipslide and a 50-50. Get your back truck on and point your nose down so your board is sliding as well. Keep your back foot on the tail and your front foot as near to the front bolts as possible. remember to keep some weight on your back foot so that you canslide, because if you put too much weight on your front foot you will stick and fall forward. Also remember not to put too much weight on your back foot, because then you will go into a 5-0 grind and you dont want to do that damnit, because your doing a smith. Slide until youre ready to come off, or until the obstacle ends. If the obstacle ends, simply slide off and adjust your weight level over the board to land and ride away. If it doesnt end, try to do a sort of ollie off the obstacle by hitting your tail and popping off. Land level and ride away.

-Feeble Grind
A feeble is a cross between a 50-50 and a boardslide. Ride up to the obstacle at a slight angle, but not too much. Ollie like youre gonna do a 50-50 but point your front truck over the obstacleso your board is sliding as well. Keep your back foot on the tail and your front foot as near to the front bolts as possible. Remember to keep some weight on your back foot so that you canslide, because if you put too much weight on your front foot you will stick and fall forward. Also remember not to put too much weight on your back foot, because then you will go into a 5-0 grind and you dont want to do that damnit, because your doing a feeble. If the obstacle ends, simply slide off and adjust your weight level over the board to land and ride away. If it doesnt end, try to do a sort of ollie and pivit off the obstacle by hitting your tail and popping off. Land level and ride away.

-The Barley Grind
Well okay, a barley grind is a frontside 180 switch smith grind... To be able to do this trick, you have to learn frontside 180 ollies and switch smith grinds... So here`s the trick: You`re riding parallel to a ledge or curb with a good amount of speed (fast), and try to be as close to the curb as possible, but not too close. Then do a frontside ollie, but be careful not to pop too big, because then yout front truck will fly over the curb.So pop a solid one, and if your done it right, your front truck should be locked in the switch smith grind position. But if your weight is not centered over your front truck you won`t be able to grind. And lean a little bit back. You can help with your other leg by pushing the board to the side of the curb or ledge, this will help to keep your board in the grind position... That`s it, and if you want to see it on video check out the Toy Machine:Welcome to Hell video (if you haven`t seen it!!!) Donny Barley pops a normal and a switch one on a double set stair rails in the video... Then you`ll know why did they name this trick after him.

--Kickflip Bluntslide
1. Approach obstacle at 10-30 degrees with your back foot on the kick tail and your front foot about 2-3 inches behind your truck bolts.
2. Kick down on the tail and scoop your front foot as in a kickflip, BUT keep your back foot lower than your front so the board flips on a 45* angle. Catch your board and turn your body and the board to be facing the curb, still on a 45* angle.
3. Land the board nearly vertical with the tail on the curb as in a blunt slide. Slide along and come off the end (see blunt-slide).
4. Watch all spectators lower jaws hit the floor with amazement at your sic trick.
This trick is much more amazing on high obstacles, the higher the better

-The Nose Stall-
-There are two ways to do the nose stall: the lame way, and the cool way.
Okay, the lame way. Ride towards a curb, or maybe even something lower for those of you who REALLY suck (No offense). Anyway, you ride towards it, do a manual and lift your front wheels in the air. As you approach the lame object, try to get your nose a little bit higher than level with the lip of the object. As your nose gets onto it, apply pressure to the nose and take pressure off of the tail and "stall" on the nose. Wow! You're good! Now, keeping the pressure on the nose, nidge your way off of the lame object (i.e. slide the nose off of the curb). Land on all four wheels back on the lame asphault.
-Now for the cool way. First ride slowly towards the obstacle, probably a curb if you are learning. Keep your back foot like you would for the ollie. Keep your front foot like you would for the ollie also except move it forward so it is on two of the bolts (close to the nose). When you get close to the object, maybe a foot or two, ollie! Land with your nose on the curb and simultaneously apply pressure. Stall. When you want to come off, slide your nose off and land on the ground. Tough eh? Hehe.

-Tail Stall-
This is Smith talking. I'm going to be talking about a 180 to tail stall. Also a switch ollie to tail stall. Because, those are the ones I can do.
The first trick, a 180 to tail stall requires that you be able to ollie and 180. So learn those first. And it would be helpful if you could do an ollie nose stall.
The first thing that you do is ride towards the object, (hopefully for your first time it will be a curb, or something of the nature) at a slow pace. A little bit faster than you would for an ollie nose stall.
Then wind up for your 180, a little bit more than usual. And always keep your eyes on the target place where you want to land on your tail.
Hit your tail, ollie, and unwind, twisting your body and swinging around your legs in a 180.
As you're swinging around jutt out your back foot, the one that started off on the tail. Then slide your back foot up onto the tail, if its not already on it. Aim it for the curb/other obstacle and try to land right on it.
Try to keep your weight even. Don't go to fast while approaching the obstacle or you will get the tail on, and then fall over onto the other side of the curb from too much momentum.
Stay on the curb for a second or two to show everyone that you have successfully done the stall. (i.e. stall.) Then, try to shift your tail off the curb and land on the ground with all four wheels at once. (i.e. tail drop the curb.) What you have to do is slide your tail off by shifting your weight correctly. This is a difficult concept to explain, so I'm going to hope that you got it already.
Next, the switch ollie to tail stall, is much like an ollie to nose stall except well... its switch. What you have to do, is put your front foot way up towards the nose and cover two of the bolts with your front foot. Then try to ollie and if you aren't that good at switch ollies, it's okay, just hit your tail and then push down on the front of your nose. Then aim it for the curb. When you stall on it, just come off the same way as I explained on the 180 tail stall above.
Practice practice practice. It might help if you practiced more than reading about it.

-The 50-50 Stall-
1) learn how to do ollies, and 180 ollies.
2)Approach the curb, rail, ledge, etc., straight on at a decent speed.
3) Ollie and turn 90 degrees(frontside or backside) at a fair distance away from the object.
4) Land with both trucks on the object, keep you weight centered, and balanced. Might help to lean a bit forward, so you won't fall off your board.
5) Stall
6) When you're ready to come out of the stall, hit your tail, ollie, and turn from 45 to 90 degrees.
7) When you land, bend your knees, and ride away.

-Board Stall-
Or Rock N' Roll Stall
In this case, we're talking about on a curb. Basically, you have to be an idiot not to be able to do this. You just sort of ride towards the curb slowly and ollie and land on the edge of the curb, with one truck up on top of the curb, and one hanging off. If you are doing this on higher things, it can be useful to get up. Just ollie, land in the position, then put your foot on your nose and push yourself up onto the ledge/obstacle. Generally this trick is seen more on vert. See the vert section for a "Rock 'n Roll stall.

-Blunt Stall-
a blunt stall is pretty easy, but it can be hard to get off.
1.Slowly roll up to a curb, step, parking block,
about anyiting that you could grind on.
(it is hard to do this going fast)
2.Lean back a little, and ollie.
3.Land between the back truck and tail
on whatever you want to stall on,do a
noze grab as you land.(your board should
be at near a 45% angle.)
4.Hold for a second.
5.To get off jump backwards and pull
your board under your feet, by the noze
with your grabbing hand.(this may take
some practice)
hint-if land wrong you will fall, and
look like an ass.
hint-it takes a little practice to do this
on rails, without falling over the other
side.

-The Pop Shove-it Nose Stall-
This is one of my favorite tricks because its easy and fun to do I do it in on the stairs at my house and anywhere elce I feal like.
1. Learn how to do pop-shuvs well, then you should learn nose stalls(hopefully you already know how),tail stalls will also hell but if you don't yet now how don't wory this trick can only help
2. Now start out going slow but =still rolling along and bust a nice pop-shuv and try to and on the nose this is hard at first so dont wory if you dont get it a first
3. Once you lock into it lean forward alot and then lean back and drop off the object as if you would do to get out of a nose or tail stall

-Heelflip to Blunt Stall-
This is like, sort of hard, so get it wired on something small like a curb first. And it helps alot if you can heelflip and blunt stall (separately) already.
I. Okay. Skate towards a curb or whatever however fast you want blah blah blah...
II. When you're like a foot or so from the object, do a heelflip, but pop the tail alot and kick your front foot out more than down. You want the board to spin like a 45 degree angle to the ground or whatever. And when you tuck up your feet or whatever you do, keep them at the angle the board is at so you don't level it out when you catch it.
III. Catch the board, but when you do it put like 80% of your weight on the tail. This'll keep the nose in the air. If you got the timing and all right, then you should land in a blunt stall.
IV. Get out of the stall however you normally do. some people fastplant out, some ollie out. Whatever. This isn't too hard if you can already blunt.

-Kasper Stall to Hospital Flip-
1. you ride comfortably at your own pace on flat land
2. place your feet like you would do a kickflip, but put your foot in towards the opposite side more (helps to do less of a kickflip)
3. start a kickflip and let it go half way
4. catch the board with your front foot, under the board in about the middle and your back foot on the tail and balance
5. hold that for a second or two and then kick your front foot out like you were trying to 360 flip and lift up your back foot
6. jump high enough to clear the board and let it rotate the desired degrees (ie 180, 360, 540 even)
7 land on your deck and ride away
